Sunday marks the national pavilion day of Sri Lanka at the Shanghai World Expo. With its theme of "Tradition to Modernity", the pavilion shows the world how the nation has achieved development at the same time as preserving its cultural heritage.

The pavilion, in Zone A of the Expo site, has displays showing five distinctive time-honored cities in an innovative and artistic way to review their history. Maps, models, outdoor scenes, images and artistic creations show Sri Lanka's tangible heritage during its development and transformation.

World famous Ceylon Tea and spices are also available in shops while artists perform traditional dancing and music. Sri Lankan Prime Minister attended the pavilion day celebrations.
