A special exhibition of Tibet treasures is being held at the Palace Museum in Taiwan to unveil the mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism.

The display is presented in four sections: "The Tibetan Empire, "Golden Treasures," "Cultural Exchange," and "Customs in the Land of Snow." It allows people to appreciate the exquisiteness of Tibetan art and better understand their history and culture.

After originating in India, Buddhism was introduced to Tibet in the 7th century. Over the past 14-hundred years, it incorporated elements from Tibetan indigenous religion to create a unique form of Buddhism.

In addition to religion, modern-day Buddhism penetrates other parts of Tibetan life, ranging from literature to dance, music, drama and even medical science.

Exhibits are borrowed from the collections of museums and important Tibetan monasteries such as the Potala Palace and the Norbulingka Monastery.
