The Shanghai Expo boasts plenty of wonders of the adult world, and it's also a giant amusement park for children. Among the young community, there is a group of children called "children of the stars." As autism patients, they are participating in the global event with all their hearts and minds.

A painting exhibition has opened in the Swedish national pavilion featuring works by young autism patients from around China. The lavish colors and bold brush strokes have been created by these innocent but isolated children.

Hundreds of thousands of Chinese families have relatives who suffer from autism. While the exhibition gives an opportunity to understand the autistics' shuttered inner world, it also shows society's awareness and concern about the condition.

According to the sponsor, Shanghai Aihao Children Rehabilitation Center, painting is an effective way for autistic children to express themselves and build a bridge with the outside world.

Visitors are impressed by the paintings and record their greetings. The loving messages will feature on DVDs and be given to families with autistic children.

The exhibition will be run for three weeks, first in the Swedish pavilion and then in the UK pavilion.
