Cake Britain" is organised in conjunction with Tate Britain and Tate Modern and brings together art and food.

The organisers approached artists and matched them with food craftsmen who could transform their ideas into edible art.

Organiser Miss Cakeshead's own artwork is still being assembled: the lyrics of "chaos" by the Futureheads - entirely spelled out in cookies.

Miss Cakeshead says she thinks edible artwork is the ultimate way to please everyone's cultural taste buds.

Miss Cakeshead said, "I think people are fascinated because you can eat it and it's something that everyone can enjoy whereas art is subjective. Even if you don't like the look of the piece of art, if you eat it it will taste beautiful, so I think it's a way of making sure or it's at least a piece of art that's guaranteed to kind of satisfy everyone because it will taste amazing".

Cake Britain runs at London's Future Gallery from August 27th to Sunday the 29th.

All proceeds of the exhibition will go to the Fairtrade Foundation, children's hospice Richard House and charity "We make peace".
