China's digital publishing industry is growing at a phenomenal rate.

In 2009, the value of digital publications surpassed that of traditional means for the first time, according to the General Administration of Press and Publication.

In 2009, the total output of the digital publishing industry in China reached nearly 80-billion yuan. And this number is expected to be over 100-billion yuan this year.

Startling growth is expected in the e-book market in China. The sales volume is estimated to be about three million sets and the shipment volume will occupy about thirty percent of the whole global market.

Despite the skyrocketing numbers, the biggest issue is copyright protection for digital publishing technology and content resources.
