Chinese celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival

A Chinese tradition of offering a sacrifice was displayed in Beijing.
People reviewed the centuries-old ceremony at the Temple of Moon, which was a place to offer sacrifice to the moon in ancient times.
Beijing Resident, said, "It's great. I am very excited and touched. We like our traditional culture."
In Shanghai, the World Expo site is seeing huge crowds. Many are eager to soak up paper-cut decorations, answer riddles hidden in lanterns, and listen to poetry.
Several ancient cities also held traditional activities.
People sang, danced, and recited poetry as they enjoyed the full moon.
The Mid-autumn festival is also a festival for family reunion. People found means to delight those who can not be with their families.
These students are from disaster areas. They lost their homes during the earthquake in Qinghai province and in heavy rainstorms in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Retion earlier this year. The kids also enjoyed a unique festival in cities of Tianjin and Shenyang.
Student from Yushu, Qinghai Province, said, "I am happy. I don't feel lonely."
Migrant workers could also enjoy galas with their fellow workers in different cities.
As for their children in their hometowns, volunteers brought them joy.
Child of Migrant Worker, said, "I miss my parents very much during the festival. I have made two mooncakes. One is for my mother and the other one is for my father. I hope they will miss me too."
Child of Migrant Worker, said, "I am very happy. The uncles and aunts bring me refreshment. I am not alone though my parents are not besides me."
Jiaohe city in northeastern Jilin province was hit by flood two months ago. 12-hundred houses collapsed.
Victims have begun to move into their new homes.
Jiaohe Resident, said, "I am more happy than when I am in the New Year. I want to celebrate the festival and move into the new house."
Chinese rescue teams in Pakistan have received food from local residents. They spent the festival together with exotic flavor.
Peace keepers in Sudan and navy soldiers in the Gulf of Aden also celebrated the festival with various activities.
