The successor to Paul the Octopus has made his public debut in Germany. However, his keepers are not yet promising any football insight from the youngster.

The five-month-old, also named Paul, tentatively explored his new tank at the Sea Life aquarium in Oberhausen. Remember Paul the original, died of natural causes last week. He was famous for correctly picking the winners of eight matches at the World Cup.

This "young" Paul hails from southern France and weighs nearly 300 grams. He made his debut after two months in quarantine. It's not clear whether Paul the Second, will also try his tentacles at forecasting.

Tanja Munzig, Spokesperson of Sea Life Oberhausen, said, "What is special about little Paul is that he is relatively bold. You've seen how quickly he got out of his vase as he couldn't wait to move into his new aquarium. We do not know yet if little Paul wants to be an oracle. We also do not know yet if he's also blessed with the gift of forecasting, but we are keeping this option open."
