Although Beijing is getting colder, the snow hasn't arrived in the city as expected. But the Old Summer Palace's Ice and Snow Festival is providing visitors the opportunity to play with ice and snow and have fun.

The snow scene is vivid enough that it makes visitors forget it is man-made. In the sixty thousand square meter area, many adults and children can play with the white stuff. Alaskan Malamutes run energetically with snowmobiles.

The dogs have won international awards for their performances in the past. The event is a cultural festival and exhibition full of activities that visitors can participate in. The festival will conclude February 17th, after the lantern festival.
