In an exclusive interview with China.org.cn, Ted Dean, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham-China), gave his comments on the following four issues:
1. Sino-US relations have seen many ups and downs over the past year. What are the prospects for President Hu Jintao's visit to the US? Will the visit help reset relations between the two countries? It is expected that a series of deals will be signed between China and US during President Hu's visit to the US. Can you tell us anything about these deals?
2. The US says China is exporting too much to the US but imposes export controls on high-tech goods destined for China. Chinese officials have called for the controls to be relaxed. This would increase US exports to China and boost employment in the US. What are your views on this issue? Is US government planning to take some concrete measures to reduce those export controls?
