China's largest telecommunications equipment maker, Huawei, has accepted a ruling by the US Committee on Foreign Investment to unwind a 2 million US dollars purchase of patents.
Huawei said in a statement that it is a tough decision to cancel the bid but will adhere to its promise of making long-term investments in the U.S. market.
The company also said it is beyond its expectation to arouse such public attention and it hoped to go through the purchasing procedure. The committee required Huawei to shed its 3Leaf Systems assets last week on security grounds. That was rejected by Huawei who decided to wait on US President Obama for a final decision.
