The world's leading plane makers have converged in Hong Kong, to show off their latest and greatest. They're competing for a slice of the ever-growing Chinese market.
21 corporate aircraft were popular among visitors. The world's two big aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus brought their best products to show.
Bombardier, whose main business is corporate aircraft, is also showing off its best, catering for all kinds of tastes. Gulf Stream and Cessna also hope to expand their market share in Asia, especially in fast-growing China.
Kevin Wu, Senior Manager of Textron said "It's hard to estimate the detailed sales numbers, as there are too many factors, like the number of people and facilities. But if the current growth speed remains, an annual increase of 15 to 20 percent can be forecast."
Though the corporate jet business is growing rapidly, analysts say the Asian market is still in the early stages of development. There are currently 16 thousand corporate aircraft flying around the world, buy only 600 of them are in Asia. The biggest portion is in the US.
