Wednesday marks the 51st World Meteorological Day, and this year's theme is Climate for You.

Each year, on the 23rd March, the World Meteorological Organization, its members, and the worldwide meteorological community celebrates the day.

It commemorates the entry into force of WMO convention creating the organization on that date in 1950. Subsequently, in 1951, WMO was designated as a specialized agency of the UN system. In June, 1960, WMO passed a resolution to set March 23rd as World Meteorological Day.
