The First Contact Group Meeting on Libya has concluded in Doha. The conference in Qatar's capital featured fierce debate over NATO possibly boosting its air strikes, or arming opposition rebels, but several points of agreement were reached.
Wednesday's meeting brought together foreign diplomats from 21 countries, but no representatives from the Libyan government.
Qatar, as host of the conference, eagerly expressed its enthusiasm to help the Libyan people.
Sheik Hamad Bin Jabr Al Thani, Qatari Prime Minister & Foreign Minister said "We aim to support the Libyan people in finding the political circumstances that enable them to achieve self-determination. This means we have to enable the Libyan people to defend themselves."
Peace efforts remain the top objective, but ways to boost the opposition's firepower are also a focus.
