The Xu and Zhang fell 6-10 behind in the first set, but their opponents from Chinese Taipei were unable to close out the set and eventually, the Chinese pair came back to win 13-11.

Leading the game 3-0 going into the fourth set, the two sides would find themselves tied at 4-all and 7-all, with the team from Chinese Taipei going on to extend the game with a win.

But, Xu and Zhang would close out the game in the fifth set, going on to a commanding 4-1 win to claim the title.

In the women's singles final, it was an extremely hard fought match between a pair of Chinese women as Yao Yan took on Wen Jia. This affair would go down to the deciding seventh set.

Wen would lead 3-2 after five sets, and in the sixth, she would take the lead 8-7. But Yao came back to retake the lead and finished the set 11-8 and tied the game 3-all.

In the final set, Wen reached a match point, leading 11-10. But Yao tied the game with a perfect serve. And she would complete the comeback, wrapping up the women's title in dramatic fashion.
