Heavy wind, hail and rainstorms have damaged 7-thousand hectares of crops in China's far western Xin-jiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The extreme weather, including unseasonally low temperatures have swept the region in turn since the start of the month.
They've also damaged greenhouses, causing a direct economic loss of 10 million yuan in one of the prefectures. Some towns were hit Thursday night by a 30-minute storm with hailstones a centimeter in diameter.
In two counties in the neighboring prefecture of Kashgar, severe weather damaged thousands of hectares of crops and killed 53 heads of livestock.
