Parliamentary leaders and representatives from 26 nations and groups ended the G20 Speakers' Consultation 2011 in Seoul on Friday. The leaders pledged to fight any form of terrorism and to pursue nuclear safety at the end of the three-day gathering.
The meeting brought together representatives from countries like India, Japan, the European Union, and China. The Speaker's Consultation chairman, South Korean parliamentary speaker Park Hee-tae, read the joint declaration at the closing ceremony.
Park Hee-tae, South Korean Parliament said "We urge the international community to make efforts together to fight any threats against international security such as terrorism and piracy. We shared a view that we need to build systems to prevent and aid natural disasters together and secondly, we agreed to strengthen cooperation among parliaments to guarantee nuclear security."
