There will be no back to back grand slam titles for China's Li Na. The French Open champion has, surprisingly, been bounced out in the second round at Wimbledon. Sportscene correspondent Richard Bestic has the details from the All-England Club.

Hello and welcome to Wimbledon where we're only just coming to terms with the biggest shock of the tournament so far, Li Na's early exit.

It came despite a strong start from the French Open Champion in the first set.

In the second set she appeared to slow and by the third her famous focus and drive appeared to have deserted her.

Let's have a look at the highlights.

At the centre of attention and on centre court, Li Na squandered two match points to be beaten in just the second round by 65th-ranked Sabine Lisicki.

The 21 year-old erased both match points with service winners at 5-4 in the third set and beat number three seed Li Na 3-6 6-4 8-6.

In defeat, Li Na put on a brave face.

Not surprisingly, the victor Sabine Lisicki was thrilled with the result…:

Sabine Lisicki, unseeded, said, "I mean it's been such a long and hard road to come back from my injury and I really had to start from zero and the last two and a half months I just started to play step by step, better and better. My game was coming together. Also with Birmingham, you know, winning the title, I was so looking forward to playing on grass again after playing the quarter-final two years ago here. It just such an amazing feeling to be back here on Centre Court and beat the French Open champion once again."

There are two core messages to take away from Li Na's early exit from Wimbledon – the first is that she is a standard bearer for a long line of Chinese tennis players who be travelling the world circuit and indeed playing her at Wimbledon.

And the other is that Li Na will be back … the dream of a Chinese Wimbledon champion has simply been put on hold. On that positive note, back to you guys in the studio.
