After visiting Province House, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge rode on a landau carriage led by Canadian mounted police, known as mounties.

The royal couple then headed to Dalvay by-the-Sea, a scenic resort along the island's north shore.

At the resort, William piloted a Canadian military helicopter, landing it on the water for the first time as part of a military emergency training exercise.

Monday was the fifth day of the newlyweds' nine-day trip to Canada, part of their first official overseas trip since their April 29th wedding. They leave for a three-day trip to California on July 8th.
