3 people have been killed and dozens injured, after heavy rain caused havoc on an amusement ride in east China's Jiangsu Province.

The accident happened on Saturday afternoon at a scenic zone in the city of Yixing. Many people were riding on small karts along a raised track, when a sudden downpour caused collisions. The pile up caused some of the karts to fall off the runway.

24 people were sent to nearby hospitals, with two in a critical condition. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
