Inner Mongolians have their own, unique tea culture that's quite different from the rest of China. It stems from a nomadic life in the countryside, where winters are windy and bone-chilling cold. Their hot, salted milk tea is both nourishing and comforting, however it takes hours to prepare. As a result, more and more Mongolians are turning to special "milk tea" cafes in the city to get their fix. It's a modern twist on an old tradition.
