A massive 3D stereograph in Shanghai made it into the Guinness World Book of Records on Wednesday. The colossal 3D picture, covering one-thousand one-hundred and eleven square meters, is created on the plaza by the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the landmark and tourist attraction in Shanghai.

A massive 3D stereograph in Shanghai made it into the Guinness World Book of Records on Wednesday.

The creation is part of "Singles Day", and is derived from the numbers in the date November 11th, which reads "one, one, one, one", signifying singles.

According to the measurement by the National Center of Measurement and Testing for East China and as notarized by the Shanghai Oriental Notary Public Office, the giant 3D stereograph achieved a new Guinness World Record exceeding the previous record by 100 square meters.

The artists intentionally made the 1,111 square meter painting to coincide with the date 2011-11-11. The sponsor of the painting hopes the site becomes a good place for singles to gather.
