The Pakistan-China Joint Military Exercise will begin from November 16th in Pakistan.

The Pakistani military says this exercise will include techniques and procedures involved in low-intensity conflict environments.

This will be the fourth time the two militaries will collaborate in such an anti terror drill.

The joint military drill, spread over two weeks is aimed at mutual exchange of experience and information through a broad training program in real time.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, this interaction of military exercise aims at sharing and enhancing expertise of both armies in countering terrorism.

Military expert Mahmud Durrani said: “It’s an anti-terrorist drill for the region of South Asia and the larger region that includes China, Afghanistan and Central Asia. We have a very serious threat of terrorism, particularly in Pakistan, which is not a secret. Even on the western borders of China there is a serious threat and we need to corporate because the friendship that exists between China and Pakistan is almost proverbial and very good and we need more of this corporation in the fields of counter terrorism, anti-terrorist exercises, we need corporation and more understanding as already there is a lot of goodwill and a lot of corporation between Pakistan and China and I think this is an essential step to fight a threat which we are both facing.”

The exercise between the two countries started in 2004.

Pakistan Army was the first foreign army to conduct any exercise on Chinese soil.

Once again, the Indian media’s reaction towards this joint exercise is hostile, hinting that the drill is aimed to pressurize New Delhi.

But in Pakistan, analysts say India should look at this in an optimistic manner…

Mahmud Durrani said: “I would tell the Indians rather than brush them aside, they should be happy because they face a similar threat. So if Pakistan and China have good corporation, the Indian media should be clapping their hands, they should be happy about it rather than reading it in a negative fashion or have misgivings. In fact all three of us have a common threat and we should be cooperating together.”

Experts say, these exercises are mandated to boost existing professional relationship between the two Armies.

Reporter: “Analysts believe that this military exercise will pave the way for further cementing of the existing bilateral relations between China and Pakistan, they say that other countries should appreciate this cooperation and should understand that terrorism is not just a threat for this region but for the whole world, that can only be eradicated by such joint efforts. “
