A special effects film festival opened at the China Science and Technology Museum in Beijing over the weekend. The series of activities related to film technology provide audiences with a whole new way to view film.

The activities held in the event includes film seminars, short film presentations, a film review contest and do-it-yourself activities. All these aim to help audiences better understand the origin of cinema, the development of film and the production process of special effects in film.

During the festival which lasts one month, 20 special effects films are showing in rotation at the world's largest museum of science and technology.
