Xiamen customs' Drug Enforcement Administration has announced the end of the investigation on Lai Changxing. Lai is one of the most wanted men in a notorious smuggling group in China.

He has been transferred to the People's Procuratorate of Xiamen for prosecution. Lai came under arrest following his deportation from Canada on July 23.

According to reports, the group led by Lai, has been smuggling tobaccos, cars, refined oil, plant oil, industrial chemical, among others during 1996 to 1999.

Lai is accused of bribing several government personnels and inciting others to do so. The value of bribes involved is extremely huge. Lai Changxing and other major members of the group have confessed their guilt.
