Participants get to munch on exotic snacks and dishes from Lebanon, Morocco, Bangladesh, Pakistan and India. They get to learn about different foods and cultural traditions, taste a range of specialties and even get tips, samples and recipes they can try at home.
The tours were originally aimed at encouraging visitors from other parts of the city to check out the area. The idea quickly evolved into a social enterprise, aiming to assist local businesses and create jobs in the community. There are now 17 different food tours in nine locations across south-western Sydney, giving visitors a rare taste of South East Asian, European, Middle Eastern and South American cuisine.
