At the Three Gorges Dam, located in central China' Hubei province, flood control authorities have decided to raise the water discharge rate to 23,000 cubic meters per second.
Such measures can ensure the safety of riverside areas. The adjustment was made immediately after the Three Gorges Dam braced for a new flood peak, with the water flow rate reaching about 42,000 cubic meters per second. The Three Gorges Dam's first flood peak this year came at the beginning of September, which saw a water flow rate of about 51,500 cubic meters per second.
