The Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation has formally accepted the resignation of its Chairman Chiang Pin-kung and elected Lin Join-sane its new head. Chiang announced last week that he would officially resign from his post on Thursday.

He has been chairman of the Taiwan-based organization since 2008. Lin Join-sane will act as the new top negotiator in talks between the Straits Exchange Foundation and its mainland counterpart, the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits.
