Most of China will experience temperature drops in coming days as the National Meteorological Center forecast a blast of cold air set to sweep across the country.

In North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, roads have been covered with snow...

The cold weather has brought a world of inconvenience to local residents, with temperatures likely to drop in the coming days.

It is also the same picture in neighbouring Gansu province where part of the Lianyungang-Horgos expressway was totally covered by snow.

Tang Yuhai, traffic police, said, "Some snow has been melted and turned to ice. It is very dangerous to drive on roads like that and besides that part of the road is a downhill which makes the situation even worse. So it would be safer to put on tyre chains when driving. We also printed some leaflets to distribute to drivers at toll gates, reminding to take extra caution."

In East China's Shandong province, temperatures fell by four to five degrees Celsius with several areas seeing frost.

The local weather station said the lowest temperatures are likely to appear early Wednesday, accompanying rainfall and strong winds.

In East China's Jiangxi province is set to see a temperature drop of six degrees Celsius with a cold front coming from the North.

Xu Aihua, weather forcaster of Jiangxi Meteorological Station, said, "The current temperature is around 18 to 19 degree Celsius. The temperature is likely to drop by two to four degrees after the influence of the cold front."

Beijing is also catching some of the harsher weather, as the temperature continues to drop in the capital city.

The local government said that they'll switch on the public heating on Thursday if cold temperatures persist, instead of waiting until the scheduled November 15th activation date.
