A special wish list has gone viral on China's websites in recent days in response to a query about what one should do with the last days of their life. It was posted by a woman nicknamed "Guo Jiamei", or "a beautiful country". She was diagnosed with Leukaemia, and her dearest wish is to help one thousand and one kids in remote rural areas realize their dreams.

It's the first time they've laid eyes on the sea.

Although living just 30 kilometers away, they couldn't afford it until Guo Jiamei helped their dream come true.

Guo Jiamei said, "I wanted them to come to the sea and feel it themselves. Every kid has their dream, but living so close to the sea and never seeing it would be a great pity when they grow up."

It's the 295th wish on the list Guo Jiamei has helped realize since September, when her life was turned upside down after being diagnosed with leukaemia.

She said, "For a rural family like us, the treatment is too expensive, I couldn't see any hope. I even thought of ending my life."

Donations came in from everywhere, but could not put a dent in the 600 hundred yuan in treatment she was facing. Finally she decided to quit the treatment, and posted this petition on her blog.

"I am from Wulianshan in Shangdong," she says, "I hope in the last days of my life, I can help 100 kids realize their dreams."

And soon she received wish lists from poor kids, along with donations.

Guo Jiamei said, "Because I myself have asked for help I wondered if I'd be able to help others, in the limited time I have left. And I love kids, especially those in the countryside, some of them don't even have a school bag and can't afford new clothes."

Since then, travelling from school to school has become her daily routine.

Collecting wishes and giving surprises. Donations came quickly, and so did the wishes. When the 100 wishes were completed, she expanded them to a thousand and one.

"It's beyond my imagination, I thought I could do it, but I never imagined it would be this smooth, such a big surprise!" She said.

But it wasn't smooth in the beginning.

Guo Jiamei'S father said, "Initially myself and her mom both disagreed, she is sick and always has a fever. "

But seeing her determination, the family accepted her plan and are now in full support.

"When she is doing it, she is happier than ever before." Guo's father said.

Since her wish list went viral on the Internet, she's been bombarded with interview requests. But Guo Jiamei only wants to be identified by this nickname.

"Whether other people know me or not, it's not important. But I want to pass on this kind of spirit." She said.

The spirit of love and hope, and the ability to realize the dreams of one thousand and one kids.
