Frida Wallberg is one of the finest female boxers on the planet -- her world title is proof of that. But for most of her boxing career she was limited to the amateur ranks, as women's pro boxing was outlawed in her country of Sweden. But over the last decade that has changed, and she has helped make the sport more recognizeable in the Scandinavian nation.

Say hello to Frida Wallberg -- a punishing pugilist and women's Super Featherweight champion the last two years.

Despite what you see, this title reign was not always a reality.

Up until five years ago, professional boxing in her native Sweden was outlawed -- so she was relegated to the ranks of the amateur game, where she won 6 national titles, but that never dampened her love of the sport.

Frida Wallberg, WBC Super Featherweight Champion"I was a stubborn, feisty girl when I was younger, but I'd say that I've always been a determined person. I am able to focus clearly on my goals. when I want something, I go all out to get it and that's definitely a quality that has got me to where I am today."

In 2007 when professional female boxing was finally sanctioned in Sweden, Wallberg could not fight, as she was pregnant with her young daughter.

But after giving birth she returned to the ring, and with an increased intensity thanks to the people around her.

Robert Klein, exercise coach, said,"Before I met Frida, she was a great athlete, but now I'd say she's stronger and faster. That's the main thing we've been working on. The explosivity and the ability to use her body in a way that suits her best for her sport."

Wally Munteanu, boxing trainer/manager, said,"Along with being Frida's trainer, I'm also her manager. So, it's me who arranges her fights and things like that. We have a really good working relationship. It's based on the mutual respect that we have for one another. Even though we're good friends outside the ring, we're very professional when it comes to the business side of things. The atmosphere in the gym when we are training is always very professional. I know that I can be pretty strict with her sometimes, but that is good. We work well together and I believe that I bring out the best in her."

As you can tell by her training Wallberg deserves the accolades and her world title, but has more she still wants to accomplish.

Frida Wallberg said,"My goal has always been to hold all of the big belts. That is what I am working towards. As for the future, once I've established myself as the undisputed number one in my division, I'll be looking to go up in weight. There is a lot more to come from me, you can be sure of that."

And as for her long-range goal --- she hopes one day female boxing receives the commercial exposure and financial rewards of the men's game.
