A school bus carrying 15 kindergarten children in east China has crashed into a pond, leaving 11 children dead and the others still in hospital.

The accident occurred in Guixi City, Jiangxi Province. The 4 survivors are in stable condition. Officials rushed to the site to lead rescue operations. A special group has been set-up to deal with the aftermath. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. The driver of the bus is being held in police custody.
