Iran claims it has captured two miniature US-made surveillance drones over the past 17 months.

Press TV quotes Iranian Rear Admiral, Amir Raste-gari, as saying the lightweight RQ11 Raven drones were brought down in separate incidents in August 2011 and November 2012. He claims much of the drones’ data has been decoded and the country’s army is researching the downed aircrafts.

Iran has claimed to have hunted down a number of US drones in the past. In December, it said it had captured a small US Scan Eagle drone in its airspace above the Persian Gulf. The US navy has denied the claim.
