It may not have the same prestige as the Academy Awards, but the Golden Globe Awards are a close second. This particular awards ceremony is considered one of Hollywood's biggest parties as stars let their hair down, pop champagne corks and share a night of humor in honor of the year's best performances in film and television.

It's award season in Hollywood. The latest episode? The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards. All week long excitement has been building.
From the corporate gift lounges - filled with tens of thousands of dollars in free merchandise for celebrities -- to the adoring fans who lined the streets.
Some of them, hours in advance -- all in anticipation of seeing the industry's brightest stars.
And the evening did not disappoint, especially on the red carpet.

As hundreds of celebrities – Grammy winning singers, Oscar-winning actors -- from the United States and abroad made their way into the main event. Even former U-S President Bill Clinton had a guest-starring role.
Les Miserable, a big winner. The film named best motion picture, comedy or musical, Hugh Jackman won Best Actor, Anne Hathaway best supporting actress for their performances in the movie.

While the Academy Awards may have snubbed Ben Affleck in the Best Director Category, The Golden Globes loved him awarding him best director in Argo. Affleck topped nominees like Ang Lee who directed the international hit film Life of Pi. But Life of Pi will get another shot – Oscar night in February.
