The leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Jong Un, has met with Former NBA star, Dennis Rodman in Pyongyang.

The leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Jong Un, has met with Former NBA star, Dennis Rodman in Pyongyang. 

The two sat side by side before a crowd of thousands at a gymnasium on Thursday, chatting as they watched a game between players from the DPRK and the US.

The unlikely encounter makes Rodman the most high-profile American to meet Kim Jong Un since the young leader took power in December 2011, and takes place against a backdrop of tension between Washington and Pyongyang.
