Angel Cabrera and Brendt Senedeker share the lead at the Masters, while China's teenage sensation, Guan Tianlang, the feel-good story of the tournament, once again impressed. He didn't play quite as well as in previous days, but he has already achieved his goal of making the cut, and becoming the youngest player ever to do so.
The 14-year-old in yellow for his third round, but it didn't quite live up to the quality of the day before. He shot a five-over-par 77, and is nine over after three rounds. He'll go into the final day in 59th place.
Guan Tianlang and partner Thorbjorn Olesen got around in about four hours on Saturday. |
Guan Tianlang, who shot five-over-par on day three, said, "Not much I think (being affected by the penalty for slow play on Friday). I think I played a little bit quicker today and I played on time so I think it's pretty good. I don't think it was too tough today, but I still think I played a pretty good round, not bad. I had a couple of unlucky, but that's golf. I think I still hit a pretty good round."
The controversy on day three - there always seems to be some revolved around Tiger Woods who was penalized two shots for an illegal drop on Friday he could have been disqualified, but he shot a seventy and is in seventh place.
Tiger Woods, penalized for illegal drop in round two, said, "As I was explaining in there, I got a text from Steiny (Mark Steinberg, Woods' agent) saying call me. So I gave him a shout and he's said there might be a rules infraction, Fred wants to talk to you. You know I don't ever go on the internet during tournaments like this. There's a lot of stuff said, so I stay away from the media. I was surprised at what had transpired. Evidently I made a mistake and incurred a two-stroke penalty."
