Art lovers in the Middle East can breathe a sigh of relief as a new exhibition of work featuring Picasso's never before exhibited work "Portrait of a Lady" is due to go on show in Abu Dhabi.
The Louvre's new museum, set to open on Saadiyat Island in 2015, is showcasing some of the works due to feature in its permanent collection. The star piece was given to a patron of the museum as a gift by Picasso himself in 1928.
The work is a collage made with paper cut-outs. According to art historian John Richardson, the piece is a portrait of famous model and socialite Natalie Paley, a relative of Russia's Tsar Alexander II. Together with 129 other pieces, the painting will greet visitors from next Monday in the Gulf state.
