Treble winning coach Jupp Heynckes said goodbye to Bayern Munich on Tuesday at the Allianz Arena, but stopped short of announcing his retirement.

Flanked at a news conference by club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and embattled president Uli Hoeness, Heynckes said he needed time to reflect, and that he would not coach a team next season.

The 68-year old leaves the Bavarian club after completing an unprecedented treble: the Bundesliga championship, the German Cup and the UEFA Champions League. Heynckes has been linked with the vacant position at Real Madrid, but Heynckes said he had no interest in another club at the moment - although he stopped short of saying he was retiring. He will be replaced by former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola at Bayern, and the veteran coach leaves with a legacy that will be hard to match even for Guardiola.
