131 cases of H7N9 bird flu have now been reported on the Chinese mainland, 39 of which were fatal. The latest figures were released on Sunday by Chinese health authorities.
78 sufferers have been successfully discharged from hospital, after receiving treatment. 14 patients remain in hospital, according to the National Health and Family Planning Commission. The latest report says the cases of H7N9 are isolated and there's been no sign of human-to-human transmission.
Seven provincial regions, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, have now ended their emergency response to the outbreak. The commission will continue to update information on H7N9 on the 10th day of each month, excluding public holidays.
