The 16th Shanghai International Film Festival has just closed and in honor of that we're devoting today's show to all things filmic. The event's star-studded finale saw the festival's big winners announced.

Russian police drama "The Major" and Swedish drama "Reliance" emerged as the two front-runners, each taking home three Golden Goblet Awards. Hong Kong's "Unbeatable" took the acting gongs.
Yuri Bykov's dark tale "The Major" centres on a Russian detective spiralling into moral oblivion as he attempts to conceal a hit-and-run that leads to the death of a passer-by. The film was named Best Film in the awards, while Bykov secured the Best Director Prize, along with an Artistic Achievement Award for his score.

Hong Kong director Dante Lam's "Unbeatable" brought some loud cheers from the local crowd with its stars Nick Cheung and Crystal Lee winning Best Actor and Actress titles. Cheung plays an ex-convict forced to make a living in illicit boxing matches, with Lee delivers a critically acclaimed turn as a girl he's trying to take care of. At just 10-years old, Cystal Lee is the youngest winner ever in the category.
Meanwhile, Willian Olsson's "Reliance" won a Jury Prize, with its screenwriter and cinematographer also netting awards in their respective categories.
The 6-strong competition jury was chaired by Tom Hooper. Opening on June 15, the 9-day festival has seen some 1600 films from over 100 countries screened at local cinemas.
