The Duchess of Cambridge is making maternity wear hip. From the high street's Topshop, to high end brands, the Duchess is sporting a variety of looks. She's shunned the shapeless smocks that were once a royal family staple. British designers say they're delighted with the impact she's made.

The Duchess of Cambridge's pregnancy has injected style and glamour into UK maternity wear. For every event, the Duchess, formerly known as Kate Middleton, has a different outfit.

"Kate is, and always will be quite a safe dresser because of the level of scrutiny that she has...Her dresses get picked up and reacted to in many different ways...But I think she always dresses very appropriately for every occasion...I don't think she takes wild risks because that's not her job," said Fashion Editor Sophie Goodwin for Tatler.

The Duchess has been delighting royal watchers and fashion lovers alike with her choices, but designers are also jubilant. Her love of lace has made this dress a popular seller for the maternity clothing lin, Seraphine.

"We've been lucky to dress people like Angelina Jolie...and I think a lot of them love long dresses on the red carpet, so this why our collection has a lot of these pieces. They also want colour. They actually want to look very luminous," said Seraphine's founder Cecile Reinaud.

Kate seem particularly fond of dresses that shows off her figure and loves highlighting her waist. That has not changed since becoming pregnant. The Duchess of Cambridge is due to give birth mid July.

Fashion analysts believes the trend the Duchess has set for mixing designer with high-street will continue after the birth of the baby.
