A star-studded cast hit the red carpet in Los Angeles on Friday. Action comedy "Red 2" had its premiere at the city's Westwood Theatre. Bruce Willis and Catherine Zeta-Jones were on hand to add some glamour to the event.

The big-name cast includes Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker.

"Red 2" finds retired CIA agents Willis and Malkovich forced back into action in a plot revolving around a missing nuclear weapon. Zeta-Jones is a Russian operative who has romanced Willis, and Mirren is a British agent tasked with assassinating Willis' character.

South Korean actor Byung-hun Lee also stars in the film. "My character is so serious from the beginning to the end. Even though I'm so serious but the audience laughs so hard. I really like that," the actor said.

The "Red" movies are based on a graphic novel and the script for a third is already in the works.

"I think sequels are tricky because it's natural to want to recreate some of the elements that worked in the previous one," Malkovich said. "But it's a very tricky balance with being constantly self-referential."

Short for "retired and extremely dangerous", "Red 2" is directed by Dean Parisot, who hopes the franchise won't be retiring any time soon.
