Heavy rain is hitting large areas of China. According to the China Meteorological Administration, the provinces of Gansu, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Henan and Guangdong will see torrential rain lasting until Thursday. Some parts of these provinces are expected to be hit by 100 to 200 millimetres of rain.
National Meteorological Center has released a yellow warning for those areas. The administration says, the precipitation in Sichuan will reach its peak in this round of rainfall. A total of 58 people have been killed and 175 others are missing due to rainstorm-triggered floods and a landslide last week in Sichuan. Nearly 3.47 million people have been affected and 300,000 people were relocated. Relief supplies including tents, quilts, clothes and food have been sent to the affected areas, while there are warnings of more natural disasters such as landslides and floods.
