As the most recognizable superhero in the world, Superman has flown high in film, TV, radio, animation, and of course, comic books for 75 glorious years. On Friday, the annual Comic Con in San Diego paid special tribute to Superman, along with thousands of fans.

DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Entertainment brought a special guest to the event, in the form of an original ACTION COMICS NO.1, printed in 1938. The valuable comic features the first-ever appearance of Superman. The celebration continued with a party in his honor, attended by several actors, including "Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill. The movie's director Zack Snyder also announced that this summer's Superman blockbuster is getting a sequel. Not only that, this time around Superman will pair up with his fellow Justice League hero, Batman. Cavill is expected to reprise the role of Superman in the upcoming film.
