White House spokesman, Jay Carney, says the United States government is extremely disappointed in Russia’s decision to grant asylum to US whistle-blower Edward Snowden.

He says it may affect whether President Barack Obama attends a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a summit scheduled for September.
