Many rivers exceed warning levels in NE China

Northeast China continues to receive heavy rainfall. As a result, the main stream of the Nenjiang and Songhua rivers and the middle and lower Heilongjiang river have been continuing to rise. Parts of them have hit flood alarm levels.

According to the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, the water is close to a flood hazard levels at some levee sections.

The Meteorological department has forecast that rains will continue to hit the Songhua river and middle Heilongjiang river in the coming ten days.

The water level in Nierji Water Complex, the biggest hydro project in the main stream of Nenjiang River, has crossed its warning level. All houses, farmland and roads in the flood area are submerged.
