China, Myanmar to further enhance military ties

President Xi Jinping has met with Myanmar's Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing in Beijing.

During their talks, President Xi said China is willing to work with Myanmar to further improve military ties so as to contribute to the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. Xi Jinping also pointed out China attached great importance to the stability of Northern Myanmar. China supports Myanmar's ethnic reconciliation and is willing to play a constructive role in the peace and stability in the region.

Min Aung Hlaing said the friendship between Myanmar and China will never change regardless of how the international and regional situation changes. Myanmar will continue to strengthen strategic mutual trust and cooperation with China so as to safeguard the common interest of the two nations.
