Well, all good things must come to an end...including the glitzy 2013 China Fashion Week, which wrapped up Friday with the White Collar Spring/Summer collection and the Annual China Fashion Awards. Our host Raquel Olsson was there, and got to see what White Collar has in store, as well as witness the big winners of the night.
The finale of the 2013 Mercedes Benz Spring/Summer China Fashion Week kicks off with White Collar, a crowd favorite and the awards show’s sponsor. The Chinese brand starts the show with all-white business attire for the smart, chic woman. Clean, fitted cuts and structured lines dominate the elegant designs, exuding a feeling of strength. But accents of royal blue, flowing silk, lace, and floral prints hint at the softer side of a woman.

The universal appeal of the clothing brand is apparent to the international audience at the show.
With the show over, now comes the moment all movers and shakers in the Chinese fashion industry have been waiting for. The annual 2013 China Fashion Awards recognizes China’s top talent, in categories such as “China Top Award" for best designer brand, and "Best Menswear and Womenswear Designer." This year designer Liu Wei snags the 17th China Top Award. Designers Zeng Fengfei and Wang Yutao take "Best Menswear of the Year", and Pan Yiliang receives the award for "Best Womenswear of the Year".

Not only are designers honored at the awards, but top fashion models too. Out of the Top 10 male and female models, the prize for "Best Model of the year" goes to Luo Bin and Cheng Yijia.

Cheng Yijia, Best Female Model of the Year, said, "We have many Chinese models marching on the international runway, but only a few have become famous at major fashion weeks. The Western modeling industry really wants models with their own personalities and style. I’ve been to New York Fashion Week and got positive feedback. I’m going back next season and hopefully I’ll show that Chinese models can be atypical."
As the Chinese Fashion industry beast continues to get bigger and brighter every year on both Chinese and international soil, we hope she does too.
