Nigeria became the first African team to book their place in next year’s competition, beating Etheopia 2-0 in the second leg in the playoffs.

But Solomon Kalou, on as a substitute, scored with the very last kick of the game to make it 1-1. And 4-2 on aggregate. Meaning they reach their third straight World Cup Finals.
"I think we deserved this over the two games. Today we suffered, we actually really, deeply suffered. They put us in danger, because the game was particularly long, but the most important thing is that we qualified. We are actually qualified without losing a single game and that’s what matters, but it was really hard." Sabri Lamouchi, Cote d’Ivoire Coach said.
