Snowfall of up to 30 centimetres is expected to hit central and eastern parts of Heilongjiang and Jilin throughout the day. Some regions will also see gusts of nearly 50 kilometres per hour.

National weather authorities have warned local governments to take precautions, and urged the public to avoid outdoor activities.
