Music news now and Beyonce has joined a collection of artists who like to surprise their fans with an unexpected album release. The superstar’s new album sold more than 600,000 copies in its first three days on iTunes, setting a new digital record of 1st week sales in the US.

The singer’s fifth record was released early on Friday morning exclusively on iTunes, and features 14 songs with 17 videos. The album also sees collaborations with Jay Z, Drake and Justin Timberlake. Priced at $15.99 on iTunes, it will be sold in retailers and other websites this week. The album will debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart this week.
